Today I would just like to share with your readers about this last Saturday which was quite a humbling day for me as well as my husband. We attended a prayer rally in Freedom Park here in Burley. Almost two hundred  people gathered from the community to thank God for our country, our freedoms, and the many blessings we are privileged to enjoy in this country.

I was grateful to sing, 'The Star Spangled Banner,' listen to beautiful sacred music, hear about the covenant the Pilgrims  made In the Mayflower Compact, and the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution inspired and certified by God.

I was grateful to see 'Old Glory' hoisted up and waving at the top of the ladder of a fire truck for all to see near and far and not trampled on the ground by the ungrateful.

I was grateful to see a vet post the colors and then be privileged to place my hand over my heart and recite those words of commitment to this nation under God, with liberty and justify for all.

I was grateful to have the opportunity to kneel down for the closing prayer with others who felt like I did, that we need to let the Lord know how grateful we are for what we have and plead for His help in defending the freedom of this great country.

And lastly, I was grateful to sing that majestic hymn,

God Bless America

Land that I love.

Stand beside her, and guide her, through the night with the Light from above.

From the mountains, to the prairies, from the oceans, white with foam,

God bless America, my home sweet home. God bless America, my home sweet home.
