I recently saw a social media post announcing the launch of he Water’s Edge Fellowship “Church” being held in the Little Theatre at Burley High School. As a tax paying citizen of this community I take issue with ANY “church” holding weekly services on public school property. As a Christian myself, my issue is not with an individual’s expression of faith as I am a firm believer in the right we share as citizens of this country to worship and believe freely. I just don’t understand how this would ever get approved in the first place. Was this a decision made solely by the Burley High School administration or was this arrangement brought before the school board for approval. I find it interesting that Burley High School students leave campus to attend seminary classes as well as students choosing to attend Christian education classes yet, there is a Church holding weekly worship services on public school property in Burley. Am I the only one confused with the acceptance of this arrangement?
