THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! The Burley-Minico football game is over and the food has been counted and delivered to our door. Santa’s elves at the Mini Cassia Christmas Council truly appreciate the generosity of our communities. We are back to work putting together Christmas packages for those in our area who might be struggling at this time. Our working hours are Tuesdays 2-5 p.m. and

Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and we are still at 1256 Overland Ave.

We are always asked what we are in need of and we are grateful that you ask and then deliver. At this time we are still in need of protein type foods: peanut butter, canned meats, tuna fish, and beans. We would also like to put dessert items in all of our boxes so that everyone could have a complete fancy holiday dinner. We are also very low on gifts for our teenagers. Some suggestions are colognes, make up, shaving products, jewelry, remote controlled vehicles, craft items, etc.

Over the years the weather has taken a toll on our building so we found it necessary to replace the roof and the entire back of our building. All of the work has been completed and we are warm and snug. All of the repairs came at a big expense so we are working a limited budget this year. If you can find it in your hearts to make a donation we would truly appreciate it.

If you will be in need of a Christmas box this year, our registration days will be on Saturday Nov. 9th and 16th at Heyburn Elementary (by the Chamber Office). The hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. both days. You will need to bring a referral paper which can be picked up at Community Action or your child’s school.

Thanks ahead of time to all of you and please have a safe fall.

Linda Short, Pres.
