What an awful, and stupid “Editors Note” you came back with to Norm Dayley’s letter on Nov. 26th.  You are blaming President Trump for all the fake and false articles about him??  So you condone sloppy and false reporting because the media has a right to “get even”?  Really?

Mr. Walgren; The Editors Note did not say anywhere that "the media has a right to get even". You referred to fake and false articles without naming any of them so your comment has no meaning. The original posing by Mr. Dayley related that “Sixty-five percent of the American people say they believe President Trump has damaged the honor and dignity of the Oval Office.” That was most likely a poll that paper was quoting. Show me proof that they made it up and I'll shut up. The latest ABC/USA TODAY poll says "an overwhelming 70% of Americans think President Donald Trump’s request to a foreign leader to investigate his political rival, which sits at the heart of the House of Representatives' impeachment inquiry, was wrong." Simply stating facts is neither stupid or wrong. Isn't it the duty and the charge of our newspapers and journalists to safeguard the truth and do it in an unbiased way? The next time you call someone "awful and stupid" it might serve all of us better if you had a real and factual base for doing so. I wish you well sir. Ken Swearingen Rupert, Idaho.
