Could someone please explain the NFHS sports broadcasting to me?

Here is my take. Minico High School is paid to sign up for this service. Minico sports fans can subscribe to the service for $70/year or $11/month to watch various varsity games. Minico, of course, receives a portion of the subscriptions. Am I correct?

What happened to letting the local radio station with local people broadcast play by play on the radio? The broadcasters were familiar with Minico and the players. All fans could listen to local teams play.

The community has always financially supported athletes at Minico. Fans faithfully attend games during good years and bad. It is not the NFHS paying taxes or supporting fundraisers. Why does Minico not support the local radio station and local businesses?
