The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has been asked by the Snake River Council of Boy Scouts of America if they are willing to sponsor a Troop.  The VFW voted to sponsor a troop.  We need boys and leaders for such a troop.  The VFW hall, 554 Highland in Burley will be the meeting place.

The members of the VFW discussed their experiences as members of the BSA and how this has impacted their lives.  Most of the members of the VFW are 60 or older.  We are mostly not physically fit to lead a troop.  We therefore are seeking either younger veterans to join in helping the VFW or other volunteers from the community.  There are positions that can be filled by either men or women with at least two of the positions only requiring a desire to help the youth without going on hikes or campouts.

Members of the VFW Scouting Committee will be at the VFW hall from 4pm to 5:30 pm June 15, 22, 29, before bingo, to discuss requirements with boys and their families and any volunteers.
