On Saturday, December 19th, 2020, Nathaniel Bradford Jin Pei Patterson, adored son and brother, passed away at the age of 18 due to a tragic accident at the Salmon Falls Dam. He was accompanied in death by his father, Chris Jay Patterson, age 58.
Nathan was born on November 20th, 2002 in Jinhua, China. He spent the first six years of his life at the Jinhua Social Welfare Institute. He came to America at the age of six and found his way home on May 13th, 2013 at the age of ten. He was greatly loved by his parents, Chris Jay Patterson and Robyn Jones Patterson, and his older siblings, Madilyn Patterson, MacKade Patterson, Saedryn Sagers (JW Sagers), Crusoe Patterson, and Taggart Patterson.
Nathan loved soccer, playing football with his friends, and getting into a slew of shenanigans with his best buddies. Nathan had an infectious smile and twinkly eyes. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and protective of the underdog. He had a competitive spirit and was driven to succeed.
Nathan participated in the EMT program at Burley High School and was a member of the National Honors Society. He often said, “There’s no reason not to get an A if you try.” Throughout the years with his family, Nathan became a happy, friendly, open-hearted young man. He was courageous and never afraid of a fight.
Nathan is survived by his mother, Robyn Patterson; and five older siblings, Madilyn Patterson, MacKade Patterson, Saedryn Sagers (JW Sagers), Crusoe Patterson, Taggart Patterson; and his nephew Lachlan Patterson.
The viewing was held on Sunday, December 27th, 2020 from 6-8pm at the Burley Stake Center on 2050 Normal Ave, Burley, ID. The funeral service was held on Monday, December 28th, 2020 at 11:00am at the Burley Stake Center. Graveside services followed at Gem Memorial Cemetery, 2435 Overland Ave, Burley, ID.
