Michael Matthew Ward

Michael Matthew Ward passed away September 23, 2021 due to complications from diabetes. 

Michael was born October 21, 1948 the son of Shirley Jones of Almo and Matthew Ward of Malta.  Michael attended school in Burley, Idaho and Scottsdale, Arizona.  He graduated from Scottsdale High School. He joined the Navy in 1967 and was assigned to the USS Henry B. Wilson, a missile destroyer.  He spent four years serving off the coast of South Vietnam.

Michael, along with his brother David, worked in the construction field for many years.  They worked in many areas across the country. 

Mike had a love for country life and eventually returned to Idaho.  He loved life and enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved his dogs and horses.

He is survived by his mother Shirley; sister, Erma Jordan; brother, Hal Ward; sons Thomas Ward, and Randy Ward; nieces Alison Kolnes, and Cayce Avila.

He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew; son, Michael Tuff Ward; nephew, Joel Gray; niece Leah Ward; maternal grandparents Erma and Owen Jones; paternal grandparents Wallace and Elizabeth Ward.

Graveside services will be held at the Almo Cemetery at a later date.
