Heath James Stroud, age 35, of Heyburn, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, from injuries sustained in an accident.

Heath was born January 28, 1976, in Burley, the youngest son of Jim and Carol Stroud.  He attended schools in Paul and graduated from Minico High School in 1995.  He was active in high school rodeo and other school sports.  After high school he went to work for the Bureau of Land Management fighting fires in the Idaho Falls District.  He went to Idaho State University for a year then transferred to Utah State University majoring in Dairy Science.  He also competed in College Rodeo and Amateur Rodeos.  At Utah State he met the love of his life Lorien Mehr.  They were married May 7, 1999, and together had three daughters, Tylee Mae age 9, Haylee Lynn age 6 and Jaycee J age 4.

In 1999 they moved to Hazelton and managed a Dairy for 6 years.  During those years they worked together in real estate.  They remodeled, flipped and bought several multifamily properties. In 2006 Heath and Lorien moved to Rupert where they leased a dairy along with his father, Jim.  Heath also had a successful hoof trimming business.  This year they had just attained their goal of owning their own dairy when the accident occurred.

Heath had a spontaneous sense of humor and always had a positive attitude which met a stranger with open arms and left them feeling like family.  He always had something funny to say or a joke to share. Heath will be missed by all who knew him.

Heath was especially loved by his nieces and nephews.  He always made a special effort to attend any game or activity.  Heath always put his family first and they were a very important part of his and their lives.  He loved doing activities with his family and was a never ending source of good times.  He enjoyed team roping, boating, fishing, family outings, snowmobiling and classic car shows.

Heath is survived by his wife, Lorien; his daughters, Tylee, Haylee and Jaycee; his parents, Jim and Carol; his sisters, Stacy (Greg), Tina (Bo); brother, Ryan (Lydawn); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an unborn son.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Heyburn Ward LDS Church, 300 S. 500 W., in Heyburn, with Bishop Brett Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in the Paul Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to Stroud Children Educational Fund at Keybank, in Burley. 1301 Overland Ave. Burley, Id 83318. 208-678-9051.
