Miss Magic Valley Outstanding Teen

Emma Lyda, of Declo HS, was honored as Miss Magic Valley Outstanding Teen. The freshman will compete in Boise, June 8, for a state recognition. Considerations in this Miss America program, for girls aged 13-17, takes in grades and community service. Emma was also recognized as an Idaho Brightest Star, which is a state service award. According to Emma, " this scholarship program is not all about appearance, but focuses on helping the community and giving back. She's learned that service is a way that everyone can stand out." 

Danielle has focused on community through working with senior citizens. She has been an active participant in meals on wheels and working with the Alzheimer's Association. Emma enjoys cheerleading, snowboarding, and cliff jumping. She will work with the south central health district this fall to promote an anti-vaping message with teens.
