If you have been to Mike Christensen Snake River Steam and Power Show in the past, then you know how much fun it can be! The show has traditionally been held out at Mike’s mother’s property. However, this year, The Minidoka County Historical Society Museum is excited to host the event on museum property. We welcome everyone to experience a day full of fun activities, demonstrations, and antique equipment.  Some of the antiques include Steam-powered engines, antique tractors, antique cars, antique hand tool demonstrations, and corn grinding for the kids. Minico’s FFA is doing a fundraiser and will be providing lunch. The Museum and Train Depot will be open for tours with the conductor running the model train. The shingle mill will be out and running. For this year’s event, there are specially branded shingles. People have been asking about when the Museum will have its next Branding Event. So we decided to add it to this shindig also. You can leave your “Mark” in history or the legacy of your grandparent’s brand by being able to brand it into the museum exhibit. We are honored to have County Commissioner Wayne Schenk do the honors of the branding on behalf of the museum.
