Several $500 Scholarships are available from the Minidoka Health Care Foundation to qualifying applicants seeking college education in health care studies. Applications may be picked up at the Human Resource Office at Minidoka Memorial Hospital, Minico High School or C.S.I. Burley Campus. Applications must be received by April 9, 2010. Girl Scout Troop 71 is sponsoring a “Me and My Man” Dance on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. at the Burley Best Western Inn, DJ’d by Music Magic Events. For all young ladies age 5 to 18 and their escort of a dad, grandpa, uncle or brother over the age of 18. Cost $10 for Dad and daughter, $2 for each additional daughter. Includes light snacks. Masquerade masks will be provided for free on a first-come basis.
Celebrate 100 years of Scouting in the USA in February. The celebration starts February 4th at 6pm with the annual Minidoka District Recognition Dinner at East Minico. All Scout leaders and their spouses are invited. Bring a pot luck to feed 10 or so. Cover charge is $3 a person or $5 a couple. Roundtable will follow at 7:30.

The Cassia Joint School District is looking for preschool age children who may have special learning needs. Friday, February 12, 2010 is the next scheduled screening. The purpose of the screening is to determine eligibility for the District’s Special Education Preschool Program or other Special services.
