Cassia Joint School District Preschool Screening – If you are the parent or guardian of a 3 or 4 year old who is experiencing a speech, physical, mental or emotional difficulty, you are encouraged to contact the Cassia Preschool Center for a free screening to be held on Monday, February 4, 2019.  Appointments required.  For more information or to make an appointment call Jeannie Lierman at 878-6611 between 8am and 3pm beginning January 7, 2019.  Only children and parents who have appointments will be screened.

ZionLutheranChurch, 2410 Miller Avenue, Burley is hosting a community dinner on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious meal and fellowship with your neighbors in our Burley community.  We would love to see everyone come join us and share our meal. 

The Mini-Cassia Veterans’ Service Office has instituted new office hours as of October 1, 2018.  The office will now be opened to serve veterans and their families Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Mini-Cassia Veterans’ Service Office is located at 625 Fremont Avenue in Rupert, Idaho.  Appointments for regular hours as well as for other times may be made by calling 208-678-3599.  The Veterans’ Service Office is pleased to serve the veterans of this community. 

Cancer Support Group (free): This group focuses on education and emotional support for individuals and their families who are being treated for, or have completed treatment for cancer. This group is open-ended (participants may start at any time). We discuss topics in a safe, confidential environment. This program is free to participants. A light lunch will be served. The American Legions Post 77 would like to thank the men and women who have served our country with courage, honor, and commitment.  The Paul Post would like to invite military veterans to coffee and doughnuts at no charge. Join Paul Post 77 members the last Saturday of every month at the Wilbur C. Looking for something fun to do?!!!  Volunteer at Pomerelle Place Assisted Living.  Play cards, bingo, bowling, ring toss, and many others. Do you crochet, knit, quilt, crafts?  Come teach or show your technique to residents.

Mini-Cassia Veterans services are in need of drivers to assist disabled veterans to reach their medical appointments.  We provide the vehicle.  Drivers receive a free physical and training.  Contact the Mini-Cassia Veterans services 208-678-3599 for more information.

South Central Public Health District is pleased to announce that Fit and Fall Proof™ classes have resumed at Pomerelle Place Senior Living, located at 1301 Bennett Street in Burley. Free classes will continue to be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Wear comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear, and bring a water bottle.

Be A Girl Scout: The Girl Scout program is fun with purpose! It is based on the Girl Scout Promise and the Law the generations of girls have followed. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience, represent three keys of leadership-Discover, Connect, and Take Action which promoted the Girl Scout mission. The program cannot function with Volunteers. Golden Heritage Senior Center invites the public to come enjoy breakfast every third Saturday of the Month. Breakfast will consist of biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, coffee, milk and juice. The cost is only $7 per person and all proceeds benefit the Meals on Wheels Program. Celebrate Recovery is held every Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Mountain View Christian Center, 317 Mountain View Lane in Burley. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered 12 Step program with “Real People, real issues, real healing!” Dinner is 6-6:30 p.m., large group meeting 7-8 p.m. and small group meeting 8-9 p.m.. Job’s Daughters meetings are held in the evenings, twice a month and are open to girls age 10 to 20. They are a place for young women to come together and gain valuable leadership experience and self-confidence, serve as a part of a team and learn organizational skills, all in a fun-filled and rewarding environment. The girls participate in fundraising and community service projects. The Button Club meets the second Saturday of each month at the Prasai Thai restaurant at 426 2nd Ave. East in Twin Falls at 12:00 noon. We are a group of people who collect buttons and meet monthly to learn more about them. We are dedicated to preserving vintage and modern buttons for future generations.
